Recon Radar: Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Semolina Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") handles data when you use the Recon Radar application on your Garmin device. We operate under a Privacy by Design philosophy, ensuring we only process the minimum data necessary to provide our services.
1. Data Processing and Collection
To provide the "radar" functionality and manage access to the service, the app transmits the following data to our backend:
- Precise Location (Latitude/Longitude): Your coordinates are sent to our service to query nearby amenities. We do not store your coordinates.
2. Data Residency and GDPR Compliance (EU)
We prioritize high standards of data protection:
- European Storage: All backend processing is hosted on secure servers located within the European Union.
- Legal Framework: Your data is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By hosting in the EU, we ensure your data is protected by some of the strictest privacy laws in the world.
3. Third-Party Services
- Overpass API: To provide amenity data, the app sends location queries to the Overpass API. This data is transmitted anonymously.
4. Data Retention and Security
- Location Privacy: We do not maintain a history of your locations. Coordinates are processed in-memory to fulfill your request.
5. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. Since we do not collect names or emails, we identify your data via the hashed UUID. If you wish to request the deletion of your data, please contact us at:
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top will indicate when changes were last made.
